Day 38

I'm trying to study and dog has been driving me nuts all day. I actually went out and bought him new bones so he'd leave me alone. 

And then he got tired (finally) and now he's napping on the couch. How can I stay mad at that face?

Day 30

The first thing Spek does when I let him out of the cage is get me a flip flop. Regardless of if I'm already wearing a pair, he grabs one, runs to show me, and then runs away with it. He'll only drop it if i pick up his leash to signal that we're going out. I think its his way of showing me that he needs to go out. As if I wasn't used to that from the last year of taking him out...

Day 29

While I went climbing today, Boysen took Spek and Hobbes to the Shirlington Dog Park. Boysen is awesome. And I could tell Spek had fun because he came home covered in slimy water, dirt, and dog saliva. I had to give him a shower- on my own!- and it was tricky, but I did it. Here he is drying himself. 

Days 24-28

My dad was in town and I fell a little behind. Sorry about that.

I think this is his modeling pose. Look at those eyes.

And this is his "don't make me get out of bed yet, I'm comfy!" pose.

Good thing he doesn't have genitals or I'd have to block them out.


Also, last Wednesday (day 27) marked 4 weeks since you've been gone. It's gone by relatively quickly, which makes me happy. But you still have 13 to go, which makes me sad. 

Day 23

Flashback to last summer. Labor Day. Spek at Great Falls Park. 

Day 22

We went around the Virginia monuments tonight- Iwo Jima/Marines Memorial, Air Force Memorial, and 9/11 Pentagon Memorial. He wasn't allowed in the second 2, but I liked this one of him looking at Iwo Jima. 

Day 21

This stick was bigger than him. And everytime he walked (pranced) around with it, he hit me. In the back, the head, the legs....

Day 20

I gave him a rawhide to distract him while I could study. It lasted approximately 20 minutes.

Day 19

I got some new accessories for the living room.  I think Spek likes them.

Day 18

Spek is a voyeur. Who knew. 
Also, he's sporting his new red collar. Corey was right- he does look better in red.

Day 17

Spek would spend every second of the day outside if he could.

Day 16

We were tired last night- me from climbing, him from....sleeping all day? He kept stretching his neck so his head would rest on my knee though, it was cute. 

Day 15

Day 14

Spek's trying to help me study.  I think he wants to take my pens and help me write flashcards. How sweet of him.

Day 13

Spek wishes he could dig a hole this big. But for now he's happy admiring the tree's root systems and wondering where half his path went.

Someone's tired. Someone's also hoarding their toys so no one else can take them.
